This album is the live, unedited performance of songs and poems created in years of travelling across America and the wider world by train, plane, bus, automobile, bike and foot and finally recorded in form. Most of the poems and songs are years old and have seen these places.

In December 2021 I began a journey from West Michigan to Northern California in search of God, adventure, art and self. Just over one year later this album was recorded as a simple time stamp! A stepping stone from which a greater path may be revealed.

This is exactly where I am at right now, what I sound like, who I create as and who I've grown to love through deep turmoil and grave loss matching with immense nature, extensive meditation, prayer and stillness seeking in a place as wild as Humboldt County, during a time when I've experienced the most grief and happiness in my life.

It is just over 30 minutes long and requires listeners to take a bit of a breath, sit back and be still for a minute.

Creator Poem 00:48
Creator of all the universe and existence Thank you for this beautiful day Thank you for our families and friends For the survivors and the bitter ends Thank you for strength, protection, guidance and wisdom For the obstacles challenges and opportunities you’ve given Thank you for most of our senses For leg, hand, crooked back and our bodies Thank you for existence For the atheists, the agnostics and the ability to question Creator of all the universe and existence Bless this world and everyone in it Empower the oppressed strengthen the weak Breathe life into lifelessness make music out of silence and poetry out of darkness

Do You 02:50
Took a picture of a photograph hung it on the wall and I started to laugh "If that ain't art, I don't know what is" Using it to fight for my whole life fighting this whole thing with such a beautiful mind As reality and sanity begin to unwind yes, I find ink in our blood oh, I find music in our breath when it's all said and done when it's all alive in death How would you know just how to be whole if you've never had a whole in you? How would you know just how to be whole if you've never had a whole in you? Next verse starts with a proposition Just take a deep breath this next parts gunna be fun Just be grateful for all the things that are true to you today you are strong and powerful rich and rational focused and patient and curious and clean resourceful healthy and stable you are calm intentional intelligent and focused yes you are beautiful, you are loved you are beautiful, you are loved. How would you know just how to be whole if you've never had a whole in you? How would you know just how to be whole if you've never had a whole in you? We're given this day this one and only day to become, to become all we love to become, to become all we love all we love all we love all we love

Love Poem 00:38
Love proof That all human beings have a purpose Well versed in the struggles and successes our existence is riddled with Selected naturally, we adapt, we evolve, we paint history with life precious Personally perceived thoughts Isolated from a life we may not agree with We may not believe in Yet we must accept Happiness, sadness, weakness, strength Life’s gifts War, Peace, Famine, Health Life’s gifts Consequences First sentences written by all Proving we are not invisible We are not invincible We are a collection of choices and memories People we leave behind will never forget Even after death
4.
The River 03:46
There's a great big river running through my heart It's deep and cold and blue and it's the same river that runs through all of us You may think that I'm talking about time For this river too, you never step in twice It just keeps on runnin by So I plant my roots, grow strong and bare my fruit that's what I'll do There's a great big mountain in my eye all I gotta do is blink have the faith of a mustard seed then say goodbye I am asking for the highest guidance for my soul's essence right now so If I am lost and don't know where I'm going I can trust I'll get there soon There are flowers growing from my fingertips Sand fills my pockets and ocean foam fills my ears Yes I, am becoming one with the earth again Know there tiny human, your purpose is so fulfilled You've so much more light to share with the humans of your world Yes you, are becoming one with the earth again There's a deep clear pond chillin in my mind It sits atop a mountain underneath a starry sky.

2015 00:25
Maybe I'll go silent every Sunday for a year Help all my friends understand the gift of listening Let them ponder whether or not they are being messed with If I am genuine I love you Just drink water Smile you’re on camera be happy for once It doesn’t take words to get that far Just us Don’t tempt me With a great New Year’s resolution

(First Take) (Clears Throat, burp) music... What will become of us if we all just, turn to dust the end of everything will it become something else What ripples will we make when we throw our stones the start of a new day includes every broken bone What will we become In light of this, fragile existence one in which we can conceive of the end of everything what will become of those we love long lost decomposed one with the forests and the grass the forests and the grass the forests and the grass As far I can see it’s all just spinning around somethin that’s spinnin around somethin that's spinnin around somethin that's bigger than us We may only be tiny little bits of dust with only our memories keeping us But we’re strong and even stronger together Survive our lives whether we weather the storm or not Scrape it all off the face of the earth You'll still be left with everything not us That’s a lot of stuff, what a privilege To know this little bit of, now Shall we always be present in the day May the day always be present in us

Ephemerality 03:02
In all the days of a year What could a whole one teach you Preach to you about it all Through two pupils Cornea just colored too Individualals of many shades of blue Bro eyed doe eyed green eyes staring still at you Staring still at you Staring still at you Staring still at you one, two, three, four, five Another down and I didn’t die Give sunlight another try Even on a rainy day Three six four, three six five Resolvin another way to survive Only a few hours left Before we begin another loop Around the sun Another one around the sun Another one around the sun Desolate Space It’s a lonely place Without us
8.
Timelapse 01:35
Timelapse cloud clearing sunsets radically ephemeral neon orange red clumps turning in on themselves Paintings by condensation last days sunlight cumulonimbus calligraphers of aesthetic sky language. Nothing unless someone’s there to look at it Proof that something will be here when we go timelapse rainbow over humboldt bay hope to watch it grow per the request of our pelican creatures in kind fishing The clouds are the mountains are the second by second movement with The wind, the soft touch upon my face When the calm snowy plovers float by the hundreds in cloud bright white tinted grey brown silhouettes turn, twist just inches above an inlets water in motion molding their family around their habitat Then disappearing into tall grass it smells like burnt driftwood on your cloths Stillness takes hold When the Bay empties the water retreats revealing feet upon feet of tiny holes dotting inside walls of the land of the grass where the tall birds stand Everyone suddenly rises to cut quickly through the inlets wide arms left bare; they all stop again to dig into the dirt for food. From a distance they appear as a large shivering blanket bright white tinted gray brown feathers all at once leaping from the inlets edges floating in sync through the crisp clear air then disappear for food is somewhere. As the Rainbow grows overhead

Arise young maiden, retrieve every dream Hail sweet senses in every seem Be little darkness while virtue alights another birds call shall guide thy feet A hue thickens as starlight thins The universe reaches, our little speck spins As everything known retrieves its fare the good and the evil harken to human ends Singin love Singin love Singin love A time to believe in moments past When life well lived it seldom lasts When billions of people awake to a new day New light bore a single cast Hell below and heavens above Human as beast and beast as dove Fragile fortune and truth abound A new breath found as simple as love. Across the oceans and many seas mountain tops to valleys below from the earth's cool surface to the tips of the tallest trees beginnings and endings of rivers flow there exists love and life where peace and joy abound abundant fruitful and sound maybe it's in stillness silence and serenity or the hustle and bustle of the sleepless city Say love, c est la vies Say love, l.o.v.e. Say love, c est la vies Say love, c est la vies

The Ocean 00:40
The Ocean It is breathing again Teaching us how to be after before Constantly changing the same way over and over It has eaten the night sky stars moon day sun since before we were fish It pushes the clouds through the mountains Like rivers set into thick cuts rising from earth's crust They meet with sand and churning of edges In tens of thousands of hundreds of thousands of years They become each other Teaching us how to be after before It is breathing again The Ocean

Don't you know, nobody's perfect Beautiful in your own way don't you know, we all live We all live and die someday Someday, Someday, Someday In a grain of sand there exists more happiness than humankind could experience throughout all of history. Why? Therein lies the answer for it is humankind who asks, who lives to seek and find. It is humans who can tempt and be tempted by all things evil; whose complexities of self and other drive us to exercise our will. Against all odds we have survived our planet, our system, our arc of the galaxy and the universe it exists in. From the beginning of time to the remotest loneliness of expansion our middle ground of little earth will be part of the whole just as it always has been. Now rotating and revolving and providing for our species until its last breath is had when we're sayin, Don't you know, nobody's perfect Beautiful in your own way don't you know, we all live We all live and die someday Someday, Someday, Someday Someday, when the earth is reminding itself of the brief history in time we cultivated a fingerprint with. As earth floated silent through space like a letter alone on a blank page. Looking to the center to sunlight cast as seemingly endless energy to earth's inhabitants never destroyed. Destruction, a reference to the ultimate end of everything composed and organized just as humans are and will eventually cease to be. For life has as much of a beginning as it does an end. When all physical constructions turn to dust and return to whence they came. To join the sand and be happy again. To yearn, lust, love, fight, prove, regret, reflect and ask why no more but to exist as the tiniest pieces scattered amongst a new whole. Vastly intricate. Less created than destined to grow old. Don't you know, nobody's perfect Beautiful in your own way don't you know, we all live We all live and die someday

Butterfly 01:04
If I make it out of this this winter alive I hope I come out a much more beautiful life like cold, dark, sadness induced metamorphosis Victorious larvae Released from its chrysalis finally satisfied Nicholas, Nicholas they’ll say Why were you being such a naive larvae Crawling around in circles Instead of climbing up that tree How quickly you would’ve become what you are now How did you endure? You looked as if you would have been more meaningful being eaten Your energy sacrificed to the benefit of something big Yet somehow you survived Condensing your trauma, your struggle and your tragedy into the colors of your wings The very things that allow you to soar above it all Beautiful Butterfly

Never Alone 02:47
Ain't goin hungry Ain't getting cold Take every chance to crack a smile cause I'm growing old I feel it deep within my bones that light that guides us all Yeah we got people who got us gutter to the steeple war torn streets to the city bus Out there in the world or in my head I got lots of friends alive and dead I know they're out there getting into our hearts with the best intentions and positivity I believe they all just want us to succeed in whatever way possible It takes a lot of people to get through it all we make the world go round right? Whatever else that's left, is meant to be a test of the kindness we're all capable of Especially when we're all together when I can feel your heartbeat and see your eyelashes flutter and even when you're not I bring you to mind Cause I love you a whole lot forever and a day and a night and through the darkest hour I'll be there buddy When you need a listenin ear have no fear that I don't understand cause I'll try to yes I hear you, I see you, I feel you Your angels will always be near you have no fear you beautiful billions of years of stardust What a must to love us human beings having a great go of it Just flow with it, you are, so you are never alone It's time again To end this song But it will be your hearts friend until the very end Of this memory

Two Roads (free) 02:36

about

Live From The Lost Coast was recorded in a live, 2 hr.,1.5 take session at Bongo Boy Studios which is located on the present and ancestral Homeland and unceded territory of the Wiyot Tribe.

Tribes and Nations in Humboldt County include Hupa, Karuk, Mattole, Tolowa, Wailaki, Wiyot, Yurok. We make this land acknowledgement in recognition of these peoples continuing to thrive on this land today and those ancestors centuries long lost whose blood and bodies are now at rest in the soil here.

Additionally, we recognize that the well-being of all people is bound up with that of indigenous peoples, and we must all take action to preserve a fragile earth.
